Teya Payments Explained

Is HDS Cloud Apps an official Teya reseller?

Yes. HDS Cloud Apps is an approved Teya reseller and partner. We offer Teya payment solutions as part of our standard EPOS package, providing a single supplier for your point-of-sale software and card payment hardware.

Can I use Teya if I already have HDS Cloud Apps?

Absolutely. Teya can be added to an existing HDS Cloud Apps installation at any time. Our team configures the integration and arranges terminal delivery — your existing EPOS setup does not need to change.

What card types and payment methods does Teya accept?

Teya terminals accept all major credit and debit cards — Visa, Mastercard and American Express — plus contactless, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Coverage includes consumer and business cards.

How does Teya pricing work?

Teya's Membership Plan is £0 a month for monthly card turnover up to £7,500, with a rate from 1.59% on consumer cards. A £29.99 fee applies if monthly turnover falls under £2,500. Businesses with higher turnover are offered a custom rate agreed directly with a Teya specialist. There are no long-term contracts and no setup fees.

How much does a Teya card machine cost?

Teya Pro currently starts from £139+VAT as a launch offer, down from a list price of £239+VAT, and includes a 6.7 inch touchscreen, a built-in printer and 14+ hours of battery life. Teya Lite starts from £89+VAT and is a more compact device with a 4 inch touchscreen, built-in 4G SIM and Wi-Fi, and 12+ hours of battery life. Exact pricing is confirmed by Teya at the point of order.

What is included in the Teya Business Account?

Every plan includes a free Teya Business Account with a debit card that earns unlimited 0.5% cashback, real-time sales insights in the Teya app, and next-day settlement of your card takings. You do not need a separate bank account, though you can route settlements to an existing account for an additional 0.10% fee on transactions.

Can I get a cash advance through Teya?

Yes. Teya offers a Cash Advance of up to £500,000 against future card sales, repaid flexibly as a percentage of your ongoing takings rather than as a fixed monthly repayment. This sits alongside your card machine plan and is arranged directly with Teya.

Can I take Teya payments without a card machine?

Yes. Teya offers a SoftPOS option that turns a compatible smartphone into a contactless card reader, which suits mobile services, pop-ups, and businesses that want a backup way to take payments without an extra physical terminal.

How long does onboarding take?

Teya typically verifies new applications within one to three business days. HDS manages the application process and ensures everything is configured and integrated with your EPOS before your go-live date.

Can I switch payment providers later if I need to?

Yes. HDS Cloud Apps supports nine payment providers and is fully payment agnostic. If you need to move to a different provider — because of pricing, a new region, or changed business requirements — the transition is handled at the software level with minimal disruption.
