Design It Once. Schedule Every Screen.
Any screen with a web browser becomes a signage player — no proprietary box required. Design menus, promotions and meeting-room boards, book them to a screen for a set date and time, and let them switch over automatically. If you ever need to, one click broadcasts an emergency message to every screen in the venue at once.
Any Screen, Properly Scheduled
Content That Switches Itself
Book content to a screen the way you'd book a meeting room — for a set date and time — and it changes over without anyone touching it.
content types a screen can show — templates, slideshows, video, blog feed, meeting-room boards and more.
is typically how quickly a screen picks up a change — it checks in automatically, no manual reload.
broadcasts an emergency message to every screen at the venue at once, overriding whatever was showing.
is the starting price per screen, as an add-on to the base HDS Cloud Apps platform.
Book Content Like a Calendar
Today's Schedule, Live
Each booking is a specific start and end date and time — not a repeating daily pattern — so a one-off promotion is just as easy to run as a standing menu rotation.
This is a working illustration of a real day's schedule. Once booked, each block goes live and reverts on its own — when nothing's booked, a screen simply falls back to your default content instead of going blank.
Eight Content Types
Whatever the Screen Needs to Show
Mix and match across your screens — a lobby slideshow, a meeting-room board and a feedback screen can all run from the same dashboard.
| Content Type | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Template / Layout | Pick a pre-built design and fill it in with your own images and text |
| Image Slideshow | Multiple images cycle automatically, in a style you choose |
| Video | Upload an MP4 or link a hosted video, with an optional background audio track |
| Meeting-Room Board | Shows busy/available and the next meeting, from your bookings and calendar |
| Blog Feed Overlay | Pulls your own WordPress blog posts onto the screen automatically |
| Itinerary Timeline | A running schedule of events or times shown on screen |
| Mixed Slide Deck | Combine several images into one rotating deck |
| Feedback Screen | A touchscreen rating flow, optionally tied to specific menu items |
When It Actually Matters
One Click. Every Screen, Instantly.
If you ever need it, every screen at the venue can be overridden at once — regardless of what was scheduled to show.

Every Screen
EVACUATE NOW
Please leave the building calmly via your nearest exit.
Triggered from the dashboard, the override reaches every screen the moment it next checks in — typically within seconds — and replaces whatever was showing until it's switched off. Custom text can be set per screen, so a specific exit or instruction can be shown where it's needed.
How It Actually Works
Built to Run Without Babysitting
The fundamentals of getting the right content on the right screen, automatically.
Any Screen With a Browser
A screen becomes a player simply by loading its own web address — no proprietary signage box, no app store, no native install to maintain.
Booked, Not Manually Swapped
Content is booked to specific screens for an exact date and time window. When the window starts, the screen switches on its own; when it ends, it reverts to your default.
Checks In on Its Own
Every screen polls for changes automatically, typically every couple of seconds — a change usually appears within moments, with no manual refresh needed.
Doesn't Need Your Wi-Fi
A SIM-connected screen works over its own cellular connection instead of venue Wi-Fi, checking in roughly every two minutes rather than every few seconds to keep data use down.
Meeting Rooms & Feedback
Two Screen Types Built for a Purpose
Beyond menus and promotions, two screen types do a specific job.
Meeting-Room Boards
Shows busy or available and the next meeting outside a room, merged from an external calendar feed, bookings entered directly in HDS, and — where connected — a third-party meeting-room booking system.
Feedback Screens
A touchscreen rating flow customers respond to in a couple of taps — optionally tied to specific menu items for a "what did you have today?" style dish survey.
Ratings, Reported Centrally
Every response is recorded and summarised on the signage dashboard, so recent feedback is visible at a glance without exporting anything.
Real Supporting Context
Dish-level survey responses are genuinely useful context alongside a venue's separately recorded wastage figures — a customer-sentiment signal, not a stock count in itself.

What's Actually Included Today
No exaggeration — here's exactly what's live, and what isn't.
| Feature | Status |
|---|---|
| Browser-based screens, no proprietary box | ✓ Included |
| Advance content scheduling with automatic switching | ✓ Included |
| Video, slideshow, blog feed & meeting-room content | ✓ Included |
| One-click emergency broadcast to every screen | ✓ Included |
| Feedback / dish-satisfaction survey screens | ✓ Included |
| SIM-connected screens, no venue Wi-Fi needed | ✓ Included |
| Screen creation and scheduling, self-service | ✓ Included |
| Live menu prices or stock pulled from your EPOS | ✕ Not available — content is designed and uploaded, not pulled live from your till |
| Automated food-waste (kg) logging | ✕ Not available — feedback screens capture customer sentiment per dish, not stock quantities |
| Wireless screen casting (e.g. Chromecast/AirPlay) | ✕ Not available |
| Plug-and-play physical screen pairing | ✕ Not automatic — a new physical screen's browser needs its device address entered once, manually |
We'd rather tell you what this doesn't do than have you assume it does. If live EPOS pricing on a menu board, or automated weight-based waste logging, is what you're actually after, talk to us before you commit — this list reflects what's live today, not what's on a roadmap.

Frequently Asked Questions
Digital Signage Questions Answered
Getting Started
What is digital signage?
Software that turns a screen into a player showing content you design and schedule — menus, promotions, meeting-room availability or announcements — instead of a static printed board.
Is digital signage an extra cost?
Yes, it's an add-on module, priced from £5 per screen per month, on top of the base HDS Cloud Apps platform starting from £49 per month.
Do I need special signage hardware?
No. Any screen with a web browser can be a signage player — it simply loads a web page. There's no proprietary signage box to buy.
Content & Scheduling
How does scheduling work?
Content is booked to one or more screens for a specific start and end date and time, much like booking a meeting room. When that window begins, the screen switches automatically — no one needs to press play — and it reverts to your default content when the window ends.
What content can a screen show?
A pre-built layout filled in with your own images and text, an image slideshow, an uploaded or linked video with optional audio, a WordPress blog feed overlay, a meeting-room booking board, or a customer feedback screen.
Does signage show live menu prices from my EPOS?
No. Signage content is designed and uploaded, not pulled live from your till — a menu board is built the same way as any other layout, from images and text you supply, and needs updating when a price changes.
Meeting Rooms & Feedback
How quickly does a screen update after I change something?
Screens check in automatically, typically every couple of seconds, so a change usually appears within moments. SIM-connected screens check in roughly every two minutes instead, to save mobile data.
Can a screen show meeting-room availability?
Yes. A meeting-room screen shows busy or available and the next booking, merged from an external calendar feed, bookings entered directly in HDS, and — where connected — a third-party meeting-room booking system.
What are feedback screens for?
A touchscreen rating flow customers can respond to in a couple of taps. It can be tied to specific menu items — "what did you have today?" — capturing dish-level customer sentiment, which is useful supporting context alongside separately recorded wastage figures.
Safety & Setup
Can I broadcast an emergency message to every screen?
Yes. One click overrides every screen at the venue with an emergency message immediately, regardless of what was showing, with the option to set custom text per screen.
Do screens need to be on my venue's Wi-Fi?
A screen needs an internet connection, but it doesn't have to be your venue's Wi-Fi — a SIM-connected screen works over its own cellular connection, checking in less frequently to keep data use down.
How is a physical screen actually set up?
Creating a screen record, designing its content and scheduling it are all done yourself in the back office. Getting a new physical screen live is a one-time manual step: its device address is entered into that screen's browser so it starts loading the right content.
